Some Sunny News for Solar Research

The Department of Energy announced this month that it awarded $46.2 million in grants to university and private sector researchers, to promote the development of advanced green energy technologies. The grants were distributed through the SunShot Initiative, a national effort to make solar energy affordable for all Americans.

The goals of this important research include bringing innovative solar products closer to market, and reducing energy costs to 3 cents per kilowatt-hour by 2030.

This is welcome news since the SunShot Initiative is part of a DOE program that may lose most of its funding if a 2018 budget proposal is approved.

At Sunrise Solar Solutions, we are more committed than ever to reducing carbon emissions and advocating for the advancement of solar technologies, and we applaud the U.S. Department of Energy for continuing its support of the crucial research that will make these goals a reality.
